A typical beauty of Castille with The Escorial behind her. The card, after a painting by Chantecler, was issued in Ediciones Victoria by N. Coll Salieti of Barcelona. It is stamped in french and greek by 'Le Prince Eugène Lascaris, Saragosse' - Zaragoza. Born in 1886, he was the supposed head of the Byzantine Imperial House of Lascaris Comnenus, although evidence suggests the the family name was originally Lascorz, a family of humble basque ancestry. The family lived in Zaragoza.
